| Ice Dogs Beat Bay State to Open December | | The Ice Dogs shut out the Bay State Breakers 4-0 on home ice. The teams were evenly matched dispite the score with great up and down high speed action. The Ice Dogs scored with four minutes remaining in the first period on a goal by Ryan Duggan, assisted by Mark Moran and Zak Ray.The first penalty of the game was charged to the Breakers just 4 minutes into the second period. Although the power play unit could not capitalize on the opportunity, Kyle Anderson banged home a rebound off a shot by Derek Brown just 2 seconds after the penalty expired. Late in the second period the Breakers went on the power play but were held off by an excellent penalty kill by the Ice Dogs. The Ice Dogs defense of Gallego, Goldberg, Jacobs, Powers, Sargent and Zampitella played a great game all night. The third period was action packed as the Breakers turned up the heat trying to get back in the game, but to no avail as the line of Moran, Hockney and Poor put on a display of great passing to send Moran in on the net all alone to light the lamp. With the Ice Dogs up 3-0 Sargent drew a major to put the Dogs on penalty kill for a full 5 minutes. Once again the penalty kill units were flawless keeping the shooters to the outside, and when any scoring opportunities did happen to break through, CJ Palmer was in net to shut them down. Frustration ran high in the final minutes of the game making way for 4 on 4 action and an empty net goal by Kevin Poor on a long pass by Ryan Hockney to make the final score 4-0. CJ Palmer was solid in net making 23 saves and securing the shut out.
